About the Fund for Homeless Women
The Fund for Homeless Women (FHW) was established to help create and support services for unsheltered women on the Monterey Peninsula which includes the cities of Monterey, Pacific Grove, Carmel, Seaside, Sand City, Marina, Carmel Valley, and Big Sur. Started in 2012 by concerned citizens who encountered homeless women living in fear and desperation, the FHW has raised more than $1,000,000 and granted more than $940,000 to address this important issue. As a field of interest fund at the Community Foundation for Monterey County (CFMC), the Fund for Homeless Women awards grants to improve the lives of unsheltered and unaccompanied women.
